Intellectual Property Notice

Novartis, the Novartis logo, and all other materials available for download from the Novartis.com/media website (the "Website"), including, but not limited to, photographs, documents, names, designs, graphics, logos, packaging, labeling, and product information, are trademarks, copyrights, and/or other forms of intellectual property of Novartis AG and its affiliated companies (hereinafter individually and collectively referred to as the "Novartis Intellectual Property"). The user of the Website and the organization the user represents (hereinafter, the "User") is permitted to use the Novartis Intellectual Property for legitimate journalistic purposes only (the "Purpose"), provided the User agrees to the following:

1. User may use the Novartis Intellectual Property only for the Purpose.

2. User shall not deface, distort, or materially alter the Novartis Intellectual Property. User shall place on all materials on or in connection with which the Novartis Intellectual Property is used, such legends, markings and notices as NPC may prescribe in order to give appropriate notice of any intellectual property rights.

3. Upon request, User shall furnish to NPC, free of charge, representative samples of the materials displaying the Novartis Intellectual Property in order for NPC to assure itself that the conditions of this grant of permission are being satisfied.

4. User acknowledges that NPC owns the Novartis Intellectual Property, and agrees that User acquires no legal or equitable rights in the Novartis Intellectual Property by virtue of this agreement or User's use of the Novartis Intellectual Property.

5. This agreement may be terminated and permission to use the Novartis Intellectual Property may be withdrawn by NPC at any time at its discretion and without cause, and without recourse by User. User will promptly discontinue all use of the Novartis Intellectual Property upon withdrawal of permission.

6. This agreement and the permission granted herein is personal to the User, and may not be assigned or transferred, in whole or in part, by User to any other party.

7. This agreement terminates automatically upon use of the Novartis Intellectual Property: (a) on or in connection with any pornographic material or illegal activity; (b) in a manner that may mislead or confuse viewers as to the relationship between Novartis and User or their respective products or services; or (c) in a manner that may damage the goodwill or public image of Novartis.
